I put a styled shoot together showcasing some unique Vancouver wedding photo locations. I’ve been wanting to put together a more urban styled shoot for a while now, and what better place to do that but in the city. I started the bridal photoshoot in the courtyard of the courthouse across from the Vancouver art gallery, and ended it overlooking downtown on the top of a parkade in China town.
The courtyard of the courthouse was a beautiful backdrop, the glass roof is more than architecturally pleasing. The courtyard is very versatile and can be quite an elegant location, especially if you’re wearing a wedding dress! The green glass and moody shadows made for some stunning portraits. If you’re into more moody shadows and creative angles this is the location for you. The second location was overlooking downtown Vancouver on top of a parkade in China Town. I love the use of parkades in more urban looking wedding photos. To me city scapes feel clean and modern, and the concrete makes for a surprisingly pretty backdrop. If you’re getting married downtown be sure to look up more Vancouver wedding photo locations, there’s so many interesting and unique areas, I recommend using what the city has to offer.
The dress I chose to use for this shoot head to toe fully beaded. This wedding dress used to belong to my Nana. She wore it at her wedding and I’ve never seen a more radiant happy bride since then. The bouquet was curated by Our Little Flower Company located on Granville Island. The girls that work there are always so knowledgable and eager to help put together the most jaw dropping bouquets. My friend Alana generously volunteered to model for the shoot. I hope you enjoy looking at these as much as I loved taking them!
